Environment and Development; The first and only environmental news magazine in Arabic, is changing the public perception of environment in the Middle East. Launched in Beirut in June 1996, the monthly magazine is now on newsstands all over the Arab countries. Environment & Development is now a strong regional authoritative voice on environmental policies, well respected and seriously listened to.

Editorial Mix :
With monthly circulation of 39500, exclusive interviews on environment with heads of state and prestigious advertisers, Environment & Development has already reached far. The magazine is now a part of the required reading in many schools around the region, and, with a unique editorial mix, is popular among common readers, intellectuals and decision makers.

Community Activities:
Environment & Development is also promoted via community activities in collaboration with environmental societies and schools. The 1997 school competition, organized by the magazine under the title "A Better Environment Starts With You", attracted 120,000 individual entries. Another school competition organized in 1998 under the title "The State of the Environment 1998" attracted more than 200 reports, which were released as a joint study along with detailed recommendations. The magazine supports more than 300 environment clubs in schools, has a regular supplement entitled The Young Environmentalist, and publishes a quarterly wall chart entitled The Green Bulletin. A pan-Arab competition on environmentally-friendly technologies, promoted in collaboration with Future TV under the title "Return to Nature", has now become a part of an international network, WYRE. This will culminate in a regional conference on the subject.
