Corporate Environmental Profiles

Al-Bia Wal-Tanmia (Environment & Development) is creating a monthly special section on environmental corporate responsibility. This section will act as a forum for corporations working in the Arab World to reach thousands of concerned readers and communicate their environmental policies to them. The magazine will also give corporations a unique occasion to verify the image they project to the Arab public.

Why a special section on corporate environmental responsibility?

Lately, the concept of sustainable development has been spreading dynamically throughout the world. In an effort to respond to growing social demands for more corporate transparency, most major private businesses are reporting yearly about their environmental and social programs.
Unfortunately, this kind of reporting is still absent in the Arab region. The Environment & Development magazine believes, however, in the necessity of acting fast to bridge the information gap between the Arab public and the private sector. We are confident that companies can gain competitive edge, improve their image and credibility, and boost shareholder value by adopting sustainable practices and informing about them.

Why Environment & Development magazine?

As the leading environmental and nature magazine in the Arab region, Environment & Development has been playing a central role in educating, informing and empowering the public. We derive our strength from a thorough knowledge and understanding of current and emerging sustainability issues and of public perceptions - and from our ability to interpret and communicate these appropriately and effectively. Our success has always been guaranteed by our independence and our objectivity.
Realizing the impact of Environment & Development on the way the society thinks and behaves with respect to the environment, we have made it our duty to enlighten the Arab public about environmentally responsible practices in the region. Without the help of the media, corporations will not receive the signals they need to provide Arab societies with more sustainable products, services and policies.

What are the features of the section on environmental responsibility?

  • Environment & Development offers companies the possibility to publish a 2 to 8-page special profile on their environmental policies.
  • The content will be decided by the company and edited by the magazine.
  • Environment & Development can provide editorial and design services if needed.
  • In an effort to promote corporate environmental responsibility, special prices will be offered. For more details, please contact us.
  • The magazine will also launch on its website a discussion forum to collect readers' views and opinions on companies promoted in the magazine.
  • A feedback report reflecting how the public perceives specific companies will be provided.

How has Environment & Development collaborated with corporations?

The magazine has already collaborated with major corporate names showing serious commitment to the welfare of the environment. Many prestigious corporations like Rolex, Saudi Airlines and Shell have started creating advertisements with environmental messages especially for Environment & Development. The magazine has also published many special sponsored profiles on several small and big businesses. Ford Motor Co., the leading car manufacturer in the world, has promoted through Environment & Development its environmental grants for the Middle-East guaranteeing thousands of entries to the competition since its establishment. Grohe, the worldwide company for water technology, has also launched exclusively through the magazine a campaign about water-saving taps and flushing cisterns.
