Download the Competion Brochure (arabic) The Arab Forum for Environment and Development (AFED), in cooperation with Environment & Development Magazine, is launching a competition for Arab schools to tackle the subject of water management. Titled "Make Every Drop Count", the competition is in line with AFED's 2010 report that will focus on water resources and management in the Arab world. It has become very urgent to take fast and effective measures to stop squandering water, use efficient water devices, fix leaks, reuse grey water (sink water) to irrigate gardens and raise awareness about these issues. Participation is open to secondary and intermediate students in all Arab schools. The best three projects will be presented during AFED's annual conference in Beirut in November 2010 The Competition The participating school will organize a team of secondary and/or intermediate students, supervised by a faculty member, to assess water use in their school and collect data and information about successful water management cases. Based on that, a programme will be established with practical steps to manage water use on campus. Conditions 1. Each school will present one project that will include:

2. Projects should be sent to the Arab Forum for Environment and Development not later than 30 June 2010. 3. A specialized committee will review the projects. 4. Winners will be chosen based on the accuracy of the programme, its effectiveness and applicability in the school and the possibility of replicating it in other schools. 5. Results will be announced and best projects will be displayed during AFED's annual conference in November 2010. Prizes
